This year marks the 9th Annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW)! NAW is a nationwide celebration established by the U.S. Department of Labor where employers, industry associations, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, education providers, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are instrumental in rebuilding our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, building a pipeline to good quality jobs, and supporting underserved communities.

Our presentation, aptly titled “Unlocking Opportunities Behind Bars: Apprenticeships for Transformation,” is not just a discussion; it’s a journey. A journey that takes us into the heart of change, where the power of apprenticeships is harnessed to uplift underserved populations, particularly within the walls of the County Jail.

Citylab Professional Virtual Event

As a dually registered Apprenticeship Program (DOL/CA) CityLab Professional is an innovative online platform designed to help students develop practical skills and knowledge in a wide range of industries, related to IT Support.

Through CityLab Professional, students can access interactive simulations, case studies, and other tools that simulate the challenges and opportunities they’ll face in the workplace.

In addition, they’ll have the chance to connect with mentors from various industries who can provide guidance, feedback, and insights based on their real-world experiences.

CityLab Professional offers a unique way for students to learn by doing, explore different career paths, and gain a competitive edge in the job market.

As a teacher or mentor, I’m excited to offer this opportunity to my students, but I need your help. I’m looking for professionals who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise to mentor my students through CityLab Professional.

As a mentor, you’ll have the chance to share your knowledge, connect with future leaders in your field, and positively impact their lives and careers.

And, if you can’t mentor, consider supporting other mentors through a sponsorship.
